Politics and land in early Ireland

Eochaid Úa Flainn wrote his long poem „Éitset áes ecna aíbind – Let the pleasant company of scholars listen“ over 1,000 years ago. His composition focuses on the invasion and settlement of Ireland by the Gaeil. This publication presents a critical edition of the text of Eochaid’s poem together with a parallel translation into English and a diplomatic edition of the heavily annotated copy made by Cú Coigcríche Ó Cléirigh in the seventeenth century.
