Autor príliš, možno až zbytočne zachádza do detailov opisu prírody a okolia a zovňajšku postáv a to najpodstatnejšie-psychológiu postáv si necháva na pozvolné plynutie - veĺmi pomalý rozbeh udalostí. To najpodstatnejšie sa udeje v posledných 3 kapitolách. Musel som sa trochu nútiť do čítania, ale koniec bol celkom zaujímavý. Ťažko sa stotožnuje postavami ale možno to bol zámer autora.

Kdysi dávno jsem viděl film a připadal mi podařený. Myslel jsem si, že kniha, anebo dokonce audiokniha bude lepší. V tomto případě tohle pravidlo nezafungovalo. Kniha totiž obsahuje dost detailní popisy místa děje a postav. Film toto nepotřebuje a více se věnuje postavám a příběhu. Začíná to jako běžná kniha pro mládež a mohla by tak i pokračovat. Skupina kluků se ocitne na opuštěném ostrově, hladem ani žízní netrpí (kupodivu). Jenže tahle parta kluků se chová dost divně. Asi si nikdy nepřečetli nic od Jaroslava Foglara. Takže se to zvrhne a je z toho vlastně alegorie na to, jak se snadno může zhroutit lidová (demokratická) společnost, pokud se tam najde vyloženě toxická osoba a jestliže se proti ní nenajdou účinné nástroje. Pokud se čtenář prokouše těmi detaily až na konec, vyvine se z toho celkem dobrý horor s ponaučením: Pečujte o slušnou společnost a dávejte si pozor na mizery.
