The Sutro Tunnel project: a chapter in the history of a German-American entrepreneuer in the U.S. West during the industrialisation era

This dissertation deals with the scope of the 19th century career of the German-American entrepreneur Adolph Sutro. Both famous and infamous from the “Sutro Tunnel” built in the United States West in 1878, Sutro has been the subject of numerous historical studies.
