Wild orchids of the Southwestern United States

The southwestern United States may not always appear to be as hospitable to wild orchids as many other regions of North America, but nestled within these oft-arid mountains, clustered around the many springs, and gracing the lush meadows wild orchids have found a home. The Southwest has more endemic species than any other region of North America, north of Mexico. This book, a field guide combined with a variety of resources, is designed to aid the orchid enthusiast in both finding and enjoying these gems of the native flora. What this book offers is several new botanical combinations not previously published as well as several recently published new species for both the Southwest and to science that have not appeared in a field guide or book
