Welcome to the proceedings of the 2010 International Conferences on Database Theory and Application (DTA 2010) and Bio-Science and Bio-Technology (BSBT 2010), part of the Second International Mega-Conference on Future Generation Information Technology (FGIT 2010). These conferences unite researchers from academia and industry to exchange ideas and solutions related to databases, data mining, and biomedicine, along with their connections to computational sciences, mathematics, and information technology. A total of 1,630 papers were submitted to FGIT 2010 from 30 countries, including 175 for DTA/BSBT 2010. The review process was rigorous, resulting in 395 accepted papers for FGIT 2010 and 40 for DTA/BSBT 2010. From these, 6 papers were chosen for a special FGIT 2010 volume published by Springer in the LNCS series. This volume contains 31 papers, while 3 were withdrawn for technical reasons. We extend our gratitude to the DTA/BSBT 2010 International Advisory Boards, the International Program Committees, and all organizations and individuals who supported this publication, including SERSC and Springer.
