The Institute for Manufacturing Technologies of Ceramic components and Composites is hosting the 14th European Interregional Conference on Ceramics (CIEC14) in Stuttgart, welcoming European scientists and experts in ceramics. Continuing a tradition since 1988, CIEC14 aims to foster collaboration among young researchers and build international networks in science and industry. The conference will feature 6 invited lectures, 29 oral presentations, and poster contributions. Keynote speakers include Frank Kern, Marc Anglada, Jérôme Chevalier, Martin Bache, Umberto Anselmi-Tamburini, and Paolo Nanni. Rainer Gadow, the organizing institute's director, will open the event and introduce Peter Friedrich, Minister for the Bundesrat (Europe and International Affairs), who will highlight the conference's significance to the European scientific community. A single session format will facilitate in-depth discussions, complemented by a lively poster session aimed at young researchers attending their first international conference. The conference will address various aspects of ceramics, covering processing, structural characterization, properties, and industrial applications across six sessions: Mechanical Properties, Processing, Bioceramics, Coatings, Composites, and Functional Ceramics.
