Trends in inflammatory bowel disease therapy

This book contains the proceedings of the 66th International Falk Symposium to be sponsored jointly by the Canadian Association of Gastroenterology and Interfalk Canada Inc. focusing on inflammatory bowel disease therapy. The meeting concentrated on issues of major concern to clinicians, presenting new and important data in the following areas: genetic factors in IBD; other aspects of pathogenesis: clues for future therapy; life-style issues facing the (young) patient; diagnosis of IBD: What is new?; medical therapy of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis including pediatric therapy; diagnosis and management of extraintestinal manifestations; the emerging cancer risk in CD; surgical options in IBD; recurrence of CD and UC; and recurrence of CD after surgery.
