The reminiscences of Eliza Spurrrett nee Stone born in 1797 and died in 1885, brother of Samuel Stone, the Clerk of the Leicester Corporation from 1836 to 1872 and Editor of Stone's Justices Manual from 1842 to 1874 which detail her early life being brought up in Knighton on the outskirts of Leicester. Also her diary for the year 1858. Including notes on the Spurrett, Stone, Councer, Paget, Parkes, Thorpe and Chamberlin families with 32 photographic portraits. The book includes footnotes and endnotes of a large number of family members and friends.
