Abstract This thesis presents a concept which allows an efficient and simplified programming of assembly processes by reducing the required programming effort. In order to demonstrate the functionality and the advantages of the concept, it has been implemented prototypically. The concept consists of two main aspects: Static aspects like devices have been abstracted and modelled in a component model. Moreover, dynamic aspects have been represented in a visual process description language. These two aspects interact, in order to ensure an efficient programming of assembly processes.
