This thesis describes the design of a full electrical landing gear extension/retraction system for a nose landing gear. The method of multi body simulation is used for the study of new landing gear kinematics in order to analyse different electro-mechanic actuator integration variants. Another main focus is the development of a concept for the passive landing gear alternate extension (freefall). The proof of concept of the electric landing gear extension/retraction system is demonstrated on a full scale test rig. For the final conclusion, the new system is evaluated against other landing gear actuation systems. The method applied within this thesis provides design guidelines which in general may also be applicable to other electro-mechanic design processes.
