This study explores the history of Jewish refugees in Shanghai, highlighting the Sephardi and Russian Jewish communities. It examines their cultural life, language use, and struggles during Japanese occupation in the Pacific War, while addressing identity differences and their resilience in creating a cultural existence in exile.
