In 1897 Greenwich, a brutal fight outside Dudley Kynaston's home raises concerns for Thomas Pitt, head of Special Branch. A missing auburn-haired maid and a later discovered mutilated corpse prompt Pitt to investigate Kynaston's inconsistencies. The inquiry could endanger Kynaston, his family, and even the nation.
