First Prize for the Worst Witch

Mildred Hubble aspires to become Head Girl at Miss Cackle's Academy for Witches, but her past mistakes cast doubt on her chances, especially against her rival Ethel Hallow. When Ethel discovers Mildred's dog, Star, is from a circus and forces her to return him, Mildred learns of the animals' unhappiness. Driven by compassion and loyalty, she resolves to rescue Star and improve the lives of the circus animals, discovering that these qualities may be what Miss Cackle truly values in a leader.
