Cause for Alarm

Set in 1937 Britain, the story follows Nicky Marlow, who seeks employment to support his upcoming marriage. When he secures a position at the Spartacus Machine Tool in Milan, he initially views it as a temporary solution. However, he quickly uncovers the dark circumstances surrounding his predecessor's death and becomes entangled with two agents, each with conflicting motives. As he navigates his precarious situation in fascist Italy, Marlow discovers that fulfilling his job is far more complex than he anticipated amidst the looming threat of war.
