Collective Violence and Relative Deprivation Theory. Examining the Correlates of the 2011 England Riots

Focusing on the causes of the 2011 England Riots, this study systematically analyzes the events and their implications for theories of collective violence. It begins with an overview of the riots as a case study and critiques existing explanations, particularly highlighting relative deprivation theory as the most significant framework. The paper is structured in six parts, starting with the study's design and limitations, followed by a literature review that informs its hypotheses, ultimately contributing to a deeper understanding of the sociological factors behind such unrest.
