A Clash of Spheres

Set in late August 1592, the story follows Sir Robert Carey, newly appointed Deputy Warden, as he navigates personal and political turmoil on the Borders of England and Scotland. Torn between his love for Lady Elizabeth Widdrington and his disdain for her abusive husband, Carey also faces estrangement from his henchman Henry Dodd. As tensions rise with Spain's intentions in Scotland, a cast of intriguing characters emerges, including disloyal Scottish Earls and a philosopher with radical ideas.
