Joe Tubbs, shaped by a troubled childhood and a tumultuous relationship with his mother, channels his frustrations into creating a film script that is rejected by Hollywood. In a desperate bid for recognition, he resorts to chilling actions that instill fear across Los Angeles, inadvertently stepping into the spotlight he craved. Detective Dan Scott, facing mounting pressure and a rising body count, seeks help from journalist Leigh Turner, who believes they are dealing with a new breed of serial killer in a state notorious for its dark history.
