Ewa Lipska ist eine polnische Dichterin, die der Generation der polnischen „Neuen Welle“ zugeordnet wird. Obwohl ihre Verse Verbindungen zur Politik aufweisen können, dokumentieren sie stets konkrete persönliche Erfahrungen, ohne zu großen Verallgemeinerungen zu greifen. Indem sie die Sprache der Propaganda entlarvt, weist ihre Poesie auch auf die Schwächen der Sprache im Allgemeinen als Instrument menschlicher Wahrnehmung und Kommunikation hin.
