This monograph evaluates research on corporate board diversity and governance in Saudi Arabia, focusing on how to enhance board diversity within its unique cultural and social context. It presents over two thousand items of secondary data, comparing them to 2020 data to illustrate the shift in diversity logics amid broader social changes, alongside a comparative analysis of global trends. The work offers insights into boardroom diversity in Saudi Arabia, contributing to the understanding of how social structure shifts may have influenced changes in the boardroom and the degree of resistance encountered. It serves as a valuable resource for accounting and governance academics, as well as practitioners. Additionally, it is significant for those examining social change in relation to Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to reduce oil dependence, diversify the economy, and enhance the public sector. This study is the first to explore boardroom diversity in Saudi Arabia, capturing changes across six demographic types of diversity and highlighting the impact of social settings within Saudi culture, while providing a comprehensive review of the country’s latest corporate governance codes.
