Focusing on Lebanon as a case study, this book analyzes how public, political, and media discourse contributes to the collapse of failed states through critical discourse analysis (CDA). It argues that discourse is not only symptomatic of social disintegration but also a factor in a state's fragility. By merging political and economic theories with socio-linguistics, the author provides qualitative data that helps assess a state's vulnerability to collapse. This work offers insights into social cohesion and sectarianism, appealing to a diverse audience including analysts, journalists, and policymakers.
