When Darkness Becomes Light highlights the struggles surrounding mental health and the journey navigating through emotions. The entries found within this book are drawn from personal experience and range from love, loss, friendship, relationships, as well as anxiety and depression. The entries are divided into two halves, with the first being " The Dark." This first half brings readers through the chaotic thought process that is associated with mental health. As the entries develop, we begin to see a shift into a more normalizing thought pattern. This second half is referred to as " The Light," which is meant to show how one comes out of the negative thought loops. This book is meant to normalize the stigmas surrounding mental health, whether the reader has experienced them or not. It is to help those understand an illness that they cannot see. This book is also meant to help those who also struggle, to help them understand that none of us are alone. We all struggle, and we can all help each other.
