Na tomto základě se Kropotkin v jednom zesvých nejzákladnějších děl pokouší dokázat, že jeho (anarchokomunistické) pojetí anarchie představuje nutný důsledek všeobecného velkého probuzení se přírodních věd, které se událo během 19. století.
