When the percutaneous foot surgery technique was first introduced, many complained about the lack of scientifi c evidence. This has since been dispelled by numerous publications, all of which demonstrate its equality, at least, with open techniques in terms of evidence level and results. Over the years many new techniques have been developed in the field of MIS. Therefore, the authors have decided to combine their knowledge and experience from many hundreds of surgeries as well as from many years of lecturing and training activities in a work that systematically presents the current state of percutaneous foot surgery. This book is intended to provide colleagues interested in MIS with a practiceoriented overview of the fi eld, including many practical handouts and problem solutions for „everyday MIS“. We dedicate this book to our friend and teacher Gebhard Suger. He established minimally invasive foot surgery in Germany and introduced us to the world of MIS. We are very grateful that we are still able to benefi t from his incomparable wealth of experience today.
