In the autumn of 1943, life becomes perilous for Italian Jews like the Mazin family. With Nazi Germany occupying Italy, Antonina Mazin faces the threat of imprisonment and deportation. Their distrust is compounded by a local Nazi official with a vendetta against Nico, whose growing suspicions threaten their safety. As Nina and Nico get to know one another, their relationship deepens, evolving into something more profound than a mere charade. Yet, with each passing day, they fear the looming possibility of being torn apart, as the dangers surrounding them intensify.
