Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a leading global cause of death, claiming over 17.9 million lives annually. To address CVD manifestations, the transplantation of secondary vessels or synthetic vascular grafts is the standard procedure; however, these grafts often lead to significant adverse reactions. Thus, there is a pressing need for modern therapeutic strategies focused on CVD. Advanced tissue engineering approaches, such as decellularization and 3D additive bio-printing, are being explored as alternative therapies. This Special Issue of Bioengineering highlights contemporary methods in CVD management, featuring five articles that discuss the efficient production of small-diameter vascular grafts, the development of vascular grafts using 3D printing, and in vitro models for better understanding atherosclerosis mechanisms.
