Anna Skiba, born in 1997 in Rzeszów and currently residing in Warsaw, is a traveler, mountain enthusiast, hitchhiker, and sociologist. She has visited numerous European countries, as well as Tanzania, Japan, and Indonesia. Several times a year, she embarks on mountain adventures, primarily in Poland but also in the Austrian Alps and Ukrainian Gorgans, and has summited Kilimanjaro and Mont Blanc. In 2019, she traveled to Indonesia on a "Darmasiswa" scholarship, spending over six months in Yogyakarta, a city in central Java. From there, she explored both nearby and distant locations, primarily hitchhiking. During her stay, she also studied the Indonesian language at a local university and conducted research. In one memorable experience, after bidding farewell to her friend Lani, who returned to Java for new adventures, Anna and her companions decided to try traveling in the "nebeng" style again. Although it was more challenging than in Java, they managed to hitch a ride after half an hour. They found a perfect spot for the night on a beach lined with coconut palms, where they set up their hammocks. Enjoying sweet mangosteen fruits that taste similar to lychee, they watched the sunset over a horizon painted in red and blue, with the majestic Rinjani in view.
