Pathlighter

Set in a corrupt theocracy, James believes he is cursed by the gods while navigating life in a grim city-state. As a lamplighter, he illuminates the streets each night using a flame from the gods' temple, which he both reveres and resents. Despite his contempt for the deities, he discovers a unique bond with the flame, granting him a limited ability to influence its brightness, hinting at deeper connections between the divine and his own fate.
