Sinking the Dayspring: Introducing John Paton

Set against the backdrop of perilous dock work, the story follows Kevin Gilmore, who struggles to support his ailing mother until her sudden death leaves him alone. With only shares in a missionary's ship, the Dayspring, as his asset, Kevin seeks out John Paton, the missionary, to redeem them. Instead, he joins Paton on the ship's inaugural journey to the South Sea islands, facing the threat of pirate ships along the way. This adventure tests Kevin's courage, especially as he grapples with his fear of water.
