The Old Curiosity Shop: Illustrated Edition

Nell Trent, a virtuous orphan, lives with her grandfather in a curiosity shop filled with odds and ends. Desperate to secure her future, her grandfather secretly gambles, hoping to provide for her, but falls into debt with the sinister moneylender Daniel Quilp. After losing everything, Quilp evicts them, leading to her grandfather's mental breakdown. In a bid for survival, Nell takes him to the Midlands, where they face the harsh realities of life as beggars, highlighting themes of poverty, sacrifice, and resilience.
