Focusing on the genetic diversity of Mycobacterium species, this study examines tuberculosis (TB) in patients with agricultural backgrounds and the potential transmission from infected cattle through raw milk consumption. It analyzes 25 AFB positive samples from first-time and recurrent TB cases, suggesting the presence of species beyond M. tuberculosis and M. bovis in Pakistan. The findings emphasize the need for precise identification of the causative agents to effectively manage and reduce the TB burden in the region.
