The field of rheological measurements for construction materials was largely unexplored until 50 years ago, and it remains complex for non-experts. Many invest in expensive rheological testing equipment, only to struggle with the setup, influencing factors, and result interpretation, often leading to unused equipment collecting dust. The conference and workshop on the Rheology of Building Materials in Regensburg aims to address these challenges by providing a platform for showcasing recent research, demonstrating useful equipment, and facilitating the exchange of ideas. Proper workability of materials bound by mineral binders is crucial for cost-effective production and optimal performance in their hardened state. The proceedings feature enhanced testing examples and applications, covering significant rheological topics such as inline control of ready-mix concrete, various tests on concrete and mortar (including rheology of calcium-sulfoaluminate mortars, alkali-activated binders, and 3D-printing mortars), the influence of fibers on injecting mortars, and oscillatory measurements.
