Euripides, a pivotal figure in ancient Greek drama, transformed the portrayal of mythical heroes by depicting them as relatable individuals facing extraordinary challenges. Born around 480 BC on Salamis Island, he initially pursued athletics at his father's urging but ultimately found his calling in theatre. Competing in the City Dionysia, he won only five first prizes during his lifetime.
