The Rick Bishop private investigator series continues as a local attorney hires him to find her missing friend, insisting on joining the investigation. The friend, Diane Clark, has a troubled past, and her mob-connected ex-father-in-law is also searching for her for two million dollars' worth of reasons. As Rick gathers evidence suggesting Diane may have faked her death, he finds himself in a cemetery at night with friends Joe Rose and Koko Mahelona, digging up what they believe is her casket. Just as they unearth it, three mobsters from the East Coast ambush them. With the case turning deadly, will Rick find Diane and her money before he hits his own dead end? This is the second installment in the series, but it can be enjoyed in any order.
