Die absolute Gallionsfigur des absurden Theaters. Godot kommt nicht und Godot wird niemals kommen. Jeder Mensch hat seinen Godot, sei es die herbeigesehnte Gehaltserhöhung, das Ende einer unglücklichen Beziehung oder die Wahl einer schwierigen Entscheidung. Wie Vladimir und Estragon wartet er dann auf das Gespräch mit dem Chef, auf den Grund für die Trennung oder eine fremde Hand, die die Wahl abnehmen wird. Doch durch das Hoffen verharren wir in der Situation, die uns eigentlich unglücklich macht. Becketts Worte sind keine resignierte Absage an die Welt, sondern das Erbaulichste, das man überhaupt lesen kann. Also warte nicht auf Godot, denn er wird nie kommen! Sei dein eigener Godot und erlöse dich selbst.
